EXAMS

For Specific Exams.

There are families who come to us because an examination is on the horizon. AEIS in a few months. PSLE in a term. O-Level by year’s end. The work has to be shaped by that timeline, and it has to be honest about what the examination is actually testing.

We take examinations seriously, but we do not centre our world on them. A good examination result is a downstream effect of a mind that has been taught well. A mind that has been taught well is not produced by chasing examination results. Holding this clearly is the difference between an education and a marketplace.

So when we prepare a student for an examination, we are not running drills against past papers and we are not selling formulae for question types. We are teaching the underlying ability that the examination is — when it is well-designed — actually measuring. The pace is faster than in our Long-term Growth programmes. The work is more targeted. But the teaching is the same teaching, because nothing else holds up under examination pressure on unfamiliar questions, and unfamiliar questions are exactly what serious examinations are designed to produce.

The examinations we prepare students for.

AEIS — for international students entering Singapore schools.

A national admissions examination for international students seeking placement in Singapore primary and secondary government schools. We have prepared students for AEIS over many years, and we work with families both in Singapore and still in their home countries.

PSLE Mathematics.

The Primary School Leaving Examination is the first major examination in a Singapore child’s life, and Mathematics is one of its most demanding components. We prepare students for what PSLE Mathematics actually asks for, not what it is rumoured to ask for.

PSLE Mathematics →

O-Level Mathematics.

Preparation for the Singapore-Cambridge O-Level Mathematics papers — Elementary Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, or both — taught at the level the papers actually demand.

O-Level Mathematics →

A-Level Mathematics.

Preparation for the Singapore-Cambridge A-Level Mathematics papers — H1, H2, and H2 Further Mathematics — taught at depth, including for students continuing to university in quantitative fields.

If your child’s examination is further away, and you would like the work to be paced for depth rather than driven by the calendar, our Long-term Growth programmes may be the better fit. The teaching method is the same. The pace is different.
